It's not You, It's Me.

I had a picture for today. But it was ugly. I knew it was ugly when I took it, but with an optomistic thought I snapped the picture and left for school. I tried using my skinny bento container again, which I never got the hang of using.

The problem is a lot of times I see bento where everything's spilling over the top of the container... how do you then close the container and carry off to work/school/etc??

Is it the container I'm using, or is it me? I can't seem to get everything to fit. I put a red beet egg in the taller section, and still had to squish it just to get the lid closed. And then since the container is held together by straps/bands, it doesn't close well and I feel disappointed to find it coming apart by the time I open my lunch box.

I wanted to get a new container to see if it would help, maybe something a teeny bit bigger until I know what I'm doing, but I think maybe it's just me??

And...51? :)

The theme was KIND OF breakfast for lunch?
  • tamagoyaki with a little american cheese inside
  • strawberries
  • red and green grapes
  • granola bar (for desert)
  • a piece of toast cut in strips
  • Pasta salad (I could eat this 24/7 for a year and still love it.)

Happy 50th?

According to my records, this is the 50th bento posted. Party favors, anyone?

It's probably the hundred-somethingth bento in reality, but not everything gets photographed, some get lost in transit (sometimes I don't want people to see how often I really eat cold pizza for lunch), etc.

Without further ado,

Nothing special :]

  • Pasta salad with sprinkled cheddar
  • carrots
  • strawberries
  • red beet egg
  • salad
  • last of the egg rolls
  • a little tortilla heart
  • grapes.

I eat my salad last instead of first, because I usually set things on top of it and use some of the lettuce as 'decor,' so by the time I got to it today I realized that I had forgotten...salad dressing. And while I can eat lettuce in sandwiches, etc., having it dry in a salad is not my cup of tea.

Luckily, a friend of mine also packed today and she had a WHOLE bottle of ceaser salad dressing with her, and was kind enough to share. (This is the girl whom I've also seen bring a whole bag of chips or box of crackers in her lunchbox rather than use plastic bags or containers.)

So it turned out well!

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder!

Navel Orange slices, cherry jello (made from a box), baby carrots, salad, pasta salad (also from a box...huh) almonds and a HOMEMADE RED BEET EGG! :)

Man, have I missed those things.

What a washed out picture! This lunch was much brighter in-person.
